Coast. A mixed media approach to painting the sea.

In this all-day workshop you will be shown practical ways to create seascapes that are expressive and exciting. We will explore and combine a range of media and methods to capture the sparkle of the sea, movement of weather and the textures of the coastline.

Nigel's work primarily begins with looking and drawing. Everything builds from this. starting point. For him drawing is an investigation, a method of recording an experience and expressing ideas and emotions.

Materials

Bring painting equipment with you, brushes, acrylics, watercolours etc. Waterpots, tape etc

You should also have drawing materials, pencil crayons, graphite etc.

I will also provide oil pastels if needed.

If you wish to work with an easel that would be fine.

You should have 3 or 4 surfaces to work on, this could be paper, board or canvas.

I will supply images, but you can also work from your own source materials.
