Mixed Media Landscapes with Jessica Palmer

Create a landscape artwork on paper by combining paper cutting, watercolour paint, ink and collage.  You will learn about Jessica’s use of mixed media to create a beautiful image of your favourite landscape. You will explore how to “paint with paper and draw with a knife”. 

This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to compose a picture without the stress of planning every brush stroke in advance. 

Learn Jessica’s techniques of layering and working with particular kinds of paper to achieve key effects.

Bring your own lunch and some drinks or cup as no hot drinks provided at this session.

Materials

Bring one or more images of your favourite landscape or seascape or of a place which has a special meaning to you.

Watercolour paints, inks, brushes, water pots, water sprays if you have them.

Any of your own preferred pens, pencils, charcoal, drawing or
mark-making tools.

Any of your own decorative papers if you have collected them.  We may not use them but we can look at them and discuss whether they will work in this setting.
