Sarah Boden; take 2

Sold Out

“Thank you for signing up for the workshop on 16th March 2024. I am very much looking forward to working together to develop your own style and hopefully by the end of the day to leave you with lots of new ideas and directions for your art.”

Before the workshop, please think about what makes you feel alive both in your art and in your life, and the colours you are drawn to and we will consider how these can make your art stronger and more authentic. If you would like to gather any images and bring them with you, please do.

We will start by playing with colour, line and pattern so if you have anything around the house to make marks with (forks, feathers, twigs etc.) or stencils please bring them.

After this, we will use these ideas to paint a landscape or seascape. Can you please bring a photo of a place or subject which has a special meaning to you? I have included two images from the coastal path by Clevedon to choose from, but please feel free to bring your own.

The rest of the materials are listed below. These are suggestions and you probably have these already.

Brushes - large and small. I use flats for loose marks but a variety is good, also a stiffer brush if using stencils (I will bring a few stencils to try).

Acrylics (black, titanium white, raw umber, and a red, yellow and blue such as alizarin crimson, ultramarine and lemon yellow)

Paper, panel or canvas.

Easel (or you can work flat on the table)

Masking tape

Water pot, apron etc.

Any tools and pencils, charcoal etc to make marks.

A few large sheets of sketching paper (not expensive but thick enough to paint on).

Looking forward to a fun and interactive workshop. If you have any questions beforehand please feel free to email me at sarahbodenart@gmail.com
