A guide to impressionism using Monet as our inspiration and soft pastels as our medium
Suitable for anyone who likes painting in soft pastels as a mark making tool. Beginners welcome. We will look at how colour was used to create light, which was very innovative at the time of the impressionists. We can do this without having to use oil paints as soft pastels can mimick the marks made in Monet's paintings. Morning - use one of Monet's pictures to discover techniques and paint in pastels. Afternoon - paint your own landscape (photograph supplied or bring your own) in Monet's style.
