Clay Sculpting Workshop with Natasha Watson

Sculpting the Spirit of Autumn: Air-Dry Green Man/Woman Workshop

Join Natasha for a hands-on, creative day exploring the ancient folklore of the Green Man! She will show you the fundamental clay sculpting techniques to build your very own woodland guardian plaque and be able to decorate it in as much detail as you wish. We will dive into the history of this natural motif before getting our hands dirty with air-dry clay.

It is suited to beginners and experienced artists alike.

You will learn how to build a supportive newspaper "forma," establish facial proportions, and use the essential "score and slip" technique to securely attach intricate clay features. By the end of the session, you will have experienced the meditative joy of sculpting and will leave with a highly personalised, air-dry clay Green Man\Woman plaque ready to dry and eventually paint at home!

The room opens at 9.30am. Session starts at 10:00am.
