In the Studio with Margaret Micklewright. This half day is for those curious about inks. A beginners foundation class.

PART 2: Develop the use of coloured ink using your own composition. Producing washes and layers to build it up in an exciting way A wider range of techniques using layers of ink to represent your chosen subject.

Trying different surfaces to investigate how the ink reacts.

Experiment with bleaching; Using Milton to take ink off and increase the use of mark making.

Ink and non-latex gloves supplied.

Materials to bring along

An apron or old shirt…its messy!

300gsm watercolour paper, rough or smooth. 3-4 sheets A3.

Synthetic brushes, mainly smaller ones.

Deep dish palette (about 8 sections) or maybe 8 small pots for mixing inks.

Water sprayer

Hair dryer or if possibe you can share

Pencil

An a3 sized box or bag to bring dampish work home.
