The workshop will involve looking at some of Margaret's landscapes to discuss ways of using Parker and acrylic ink (which she will provide) in a wet-on-wet technique. She will explain her reasons for using ink and provide demonstrations on how the results are achieved.
Members will be invited to try these out and develop their own work with input from her if required. Margaret will use acrylic ink in the first part of the workshop and then Parker ink in the second, exploring all the different ways that they can be used.
Margaret was brought up on the beautiful Isle of Arran in Scotland and went on the obtain BA Hons at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen. Her love of landscape and horses has stayed with her. She works in oils and any medium, however prefers to use acrylic ink in a wet-on-wet technique and enjoys the challenges and benefits that this method brings especially when completed on location.
Her work has to flow and she tries to retain a little detail, but always striving to evoke a sense of place and time, whilst pushing the boundaries and make the art as ambiguous as she can.
