Tony Pizzey - Analysing the Facial Image, Cubism and Collage in Portraits

This workshop aims to look at alternatives to cosmetic and anatomical responses to the face, and to consider examples from the past to provide new inspiration. Participants will be able to take away starting points for new initiatives in portraiture.

Tony retired from a teaching career in Avon, latterly as the Art Advisory teacher for the county , and formally as Head of Art for several departments and faculties. He contributed to the introduction of G.C.S.E, and the National Curriculum, served as a team leader and moderator, and lectured to P.G.C.E. & A Level students. He has delivered a variety of courses and residencies in diverse circumstances , including Kings College Cambridge , a Prison and a convent! 

Since retiring  from advisory work  he has worked in fixed term contract posts , until recently he has now returned to practising as a sculptor working mostly in braised wire structures and on commission . He currently runs courses in 3D work and drawing.
