Roger will be showing the kinds of relevant brush strokes and effects needed for the subject of the day, (notably ebb tide reflections), and the painting disciplines and priorities he recommends in the approach for any successful painting.
Roger lives in South Gloucestershire, near Stroud and recently led a holiday company for 15 years, tutoring guests on painting holidays throughout Europe; most recently, Sardinia, Gozo, and Jersey. He work sin watercolours and oils portraying contemporary landscapes and seascapes in the UK.
Once senior producer for the BBC Natural History Unit Roger exchanged filming in the wilds for brushes and paint; and though the media differ it’s still all about pictures, and the disciplines are just the same. He tutor,s demonstrates and exhibits countrywide, tutors at Marlborough College Summer School, and occasionally writes for The Artist magazine. In 2011 at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI), he was awarded the MENENA JOY SCHWABE MEMORIAL AWARD, for outstanding oil painting, and in July 2013 at Clifton Arts Club, Bristol, theSIDOLI PRIZE.
