It is with great sadness that we have to tell you of the death of Jean Kent.
Jean moved to Highcliffe in Hampshire about 4 years ago to be nearer her very dear family. Up to this year Jean has always returned to our Open Exhibition Preview, which she so enjoyed being a part of and indeed we were always so happy to see her.
Jean was a founder member of Clevedon Art Club, a previous Club President and President at the time of our 50th Anniversary. This was a time tinged with sadness, celebration and misfortune as her husband John, passed away over the week-end and we had a burglary at the exhibition when many paintings were stolen.
Jeans art work has always been admired; a sample of her work is shown below.
Jean’s legacy will be the Jean Kent Prize presented at the Summer Open Exhibition, which we will always be able to remember her by.
