Uphill Artists will be holding an exhibition at the Old Town Quarry Gallery from September 9th until October 2nd.
They are a group of local artists who meet twice a month and produce a variety of artwork. They will be exhibiting a diverse range of paintings, drawings, prints and cards.
Artists exhibiting are Val Treasure, Dianne Harrison, Bari Sparshott, Myrtle Wyatt, Sandra Raven, Shirley Porter, Jude Birt, Maureen Cope, Anne Harrison, Tina Gordon, Ali Witchell, Jan Bishop and Verity Boulger.
The working quarry closed in the 1950s and it is now a thriving artists community. The Gallery has an on¬going programme of exhibitions which change every two to three weeks. Please check the website for up to date information. www.oldtownquarryart.co.uk
There's also a tea room with lovely food, a beautiful nature reserve, a blacksmith, a craft shop, free parking and a number of artists' studios.
On Saturday September 10th there will be a Studios Open Day when the studios will be open for viewing and the quarry artists will be happy to chat about their work.
The Quarry is open 10.30 until 4.30 Wednesday to Sunday.
